CHOP gifts from Norwood-Fontbonne
Even during the waning days of school at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, this fourth grade homeroom still found time to think about service to others. The students have been busy collecting children’s books as well as money – a grand sum of $136 – from selling bracelets, spare stationary, and their allowances. These gifts will be sent to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to bring some joy into the lives of ill children. ‘UNHUGGABLES’ AT HILL LIBRARY: Public Eye: Artists for Animals’ “The Unhuggables” kids’ show will come to Chestnut Hill Library on Saturday, June 14, 2-3 p.m. It is a traveling show of stories, puppetry and music about empathy and respect for our local wildlife. FREE CONCERT SATURDAY: Walk a Crooked Mile Books will present the return of Aaron Mitchell in a free concert on Saturday June 14, 7-9 p.m., at the Mt. Airy Train Station, Gowen and Devon. Aaron is a singer/songwriter who led the New York based acoustic soul band “Shagg” and is now a frequent and popular performer in Mt. Airy. He will perform songs from rock to reggae to his own award winning songs. This is an outdoor concert, so please bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic.
