ObituariesRose Bencivengo Ms. Bencivengo was retired from Leeds-Northrup and worked several years for Temple University’s Sugarloaf Conference Center in Chestnut Hill. Ms. Bencivengo was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. She is survived by two sisters, Clara Waters of Willow Grove and Frances Pursly of Langhorne; several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at St. Joseph’s Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the above church.
Evelyn B. Cantono Ms. Cantono was the wife of the late Albert S. Cantono. She is survived by many nieces and nephews from the Cantono and Daly families. A funeral Mass was celebrated July 21 at Seven Dolors Church, 1200 E. Willow Grove Ave. in Wyndmoor. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Rita M. Coyne Ms. Coyne was born in Chestnut Hill, the daughter of the late Mary Finnerty Coyne and Thomas P. Coyne Sr. She was also predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. Ms. Coyne attended Our Mother of Consolation Church and school and Cecilian Academy. After moving to Ambler, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua parish. After working as head buyer for jewelry at the John Wanamaker stores, she owned and operated her own store The Rita Coyne Shop in Chestnut Hill for more than 30 years. She was active in the Chestnut Hill Business Association and helped set up the crèche and Christmas caroling at Sovereign Bank every year. She also served as a volunteer for St. Joseph’s Villa, for special retreats at the Dominican Retreat House in Elkins Park and the Catholic League for Persons with Disabilities. A nephew, Timothy C. Coyne, and two nieces predeceased her. She is survived by nieces Deirdre C. Coyne and Rita M. Bollinger; a niece-in-law Pamela Coyne of Wyndmoor; a great-niece Alison Coyne Kerekes and her family. A funeral service was held on July 19 at St. Anthony of Padua Mary Chapel in Ambler. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, 34th St. & Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104 or to Holy Redeemer Hospice Development Foundation, 521 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
H. Elizabeth Renshaw Mrs. Renshaw was the wife of the late William R. Renshaw and mother of the late Jean C. Frazier. She is survived by a daughter, Judith Russell Hoover, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service in Fairhill, Md. will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
