These kindergarten students from Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, dressed as pilgrims and Native Americans in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, are proud of the decorated boxes and bins that they donated for their “adopted” family from St. Hugh of Cluny Parish in Kensington. The entire NFA community and contained turkeys, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, rice, beans, decorations and an array of staples assembled more than 150 of these. They were delivered by sixth grade community service corps volunteers as well as many parent drivers who helped make Thanksgiving a happy holiday for the 35 families serviced by NFA. This is the eighth year that NFA has had this holiday relationship with St. Hugh and its parishioners.

LOCAL STUDENTS PLAN CONFERENCE: Germantown Academy students Victoria Edwards (left) and J. Leah Ray, both of Mt. Airy, make plans for the third annual Student Leadership Conference sponsored by the Black Student Alliance to be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at their school. The student-run conference brings together black affinity and multicultural groups from independent schools in the Greater Philadelphia area and offers talented minority students an opportunity to network, build awareness and gain support.
