At the time of his death, he was vice president of operations for Traffic.com, a national traffic reporting service. He had worked in the course of his career at radio stations in Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Florida and California, spending much of the time behind the scenes as a programmer and consultant.

Born in Lancaster, Mr. Sullivan was raised in Wyndmoor and graduated from Springfield High School. He immediately went to work sorting mail at the radio and TV offices of WFIL in Philadelphia, then landed a position on the production staff of The World Around Us, a morning show on Channel 6. He left Channel 6 to become the overnight disc jockey at WIOQ-FM and, later, to take on the position at WCAU-FM.

Mr. Sullivan left Philadelphia to become music director and an evening host at WYNY-FM, an NBC affiliate in New York. Moving on to Florida, he was a programmer for several radio stations and radio network coordinator for the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Hurricanes. He also appeared in two episodes of the TV series Miami Vice.

Returning to Philadelphia in 1988, he was a programmer for WSNI-FM and WPGR-AM and worked with local broadcast celebrities Jerry Blavat and Don Cannon.

Mr. Sullivan is survived by a daughter, Katie Sullivan-Gilbert; two brothers; two sisters; his father, Jere J. Sullivan Jr., and a former wife, Gretchen Schmidt.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 13 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Ambler. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
