Taste local food and support Teens Inc.

A Taste of Chestnut Hill benefitting Teenagers, Inc. will take place on Sunday, Nov.15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Springside School, Cherokee St. & Willow Grove Ave. in Chestnut Hill.. Dawn Stensland will host. Guests at the dinner will enjoy a great selection of food – from signature dishes to desserts — donated by local restaurants.

Patrick Atkinson, founder of God’s Child Project in Guatemala, is this year’s special guest. Young people from this area volunteered at God’s Child this past summer. Teens, Inc. built three homes, worked in the homeless shelter and participated in a clothing distribution.  Mr. Atkinson wishes to build awareness of the poverty-stricken families of Guatemala and the services provided by his organization. The teens hope to raise some much needed funding for God’s Child Project.

The fundraiser will include a Silent Auction, 50/50, balloon raffle and Silpada jewelry sale. Babysitting will be provided by the teens. The event is $30 for adults and teens 12 years and older ($35. at the door), $10 for 10 to 11 year-olds and $5 for children. Tickets can be purchased at Town Hall; 8434 Germantown Ave., Chestnut Hill or by contacting Marianne Dwyer at 215-242-4976 or Darlene Temple at 215-844-8775.

Teenagers, Inc is a non-profit teen group servicing the Northwest section of the city and its surrounding areas. The organization provides recreational and service activities for pre-teens and teens. Inquiries should be made to Marianne Dwyer, Executive Director.
