![]() Lisa Baird Ms. Baird’s clients included Chinese boat people, African victims of female genital mutilation and persecuted Indonesian Christians. Before opening her own practice in 1998, she had been an attorney for Lehigh Valley Legal Services and for Philadelphia City Council. She had also been a staff member of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and Council Migration Service of Philadelphia. Prior to her career in law, she was active in the anti-Vietnam War and civil-rights movements. In Philadelphia, she campaigned for better public transportation and tenant rights, worked for the Council on Aging and volunteered with the neighborhood Latino group Padres Unidos. Raised in Lower Merion, Ms. Baird graduated from the Baldwin School. She attended the University of Texas and received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a law degree from Rutgers University. Ms. Baird married Roger Ashodian in 1988, but the couple later separated. She is survived by a son, Louis Ashodian; a daughter Molly Ashodian; her mother, Deena; brothers Jonathan and Robert, and her husband. A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Germantown Jewish Center, 400 W. Ellet St. A graveside service was held Oct. 23 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose.
Edward Golden Edward Golden, 82, of Manayunk, died Saturday, Oct. 24 in the Chestnut Hill Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Golden was born in New Haven, Conn. He served in the Navy and was a retired clothing salesman for Joseph Banks Clothing in Chestnut Hill. He is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth Golden of Lansdowne, Jennifer Vogel (Michael) of Wyndmoor and his son Todd Golden (Sheila) of Lafayette Hill; six grandchildren and a brother Bernard Goldfarb. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at the home of his son from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
