CHA’s McCrossen Georgetown bound
Senior Ed McCrossen, captain of Chestnut Hill Academy’s varsity golf team and three-time First Team All Inter-Ac, has signed with Georgetown University and will join its Division 1, 12-man roster.
“I was always hoping for Georgetown,” said McCrossen, who was also courted by another academic powerhouse, the University of Pennsylvania. Besides playing Division 1 golf, McCrossen intends to pursue a degree in business.
McCrossen, an honor roll student at CHA, has been playing on CHA’s varsity team since the 7th grade. He recently captured Whitemarsh Valley Country Club’s Men’s Club Championship—no easy feat—and was named Junior Player of the year by the Golf Association of Philadelphia, winning this distinction with a cumulative total of 510 points — 140 clear of his nearest rival.
“Ed’s an amazing golfer,” said Jim Talbot, CHA’s varsity golf coach.  “He has everything you want in a player: great hand-eye coordination, perfect timing, an unflappable attitude, and sound work ethic. He’s a wonderful person, great student, and great athlete.”
