![]() 8 secure seats for CHCA board, eliminate need for an election Eight people have secured seats on the Chestnut Hill Community Association board simply by filing their nomination petitions on time (last Friday at 5 p.m.). There were eight vacant seats and only eight nominees, meaning there will be no board election at the CHCA’s annual meeting on Wednesday, April 21. Board members Mark Keintz, Jane Piotrowski, Robert Rossman, and Kristina Sullivan will all return for another three-year term. Julie Byrne, Robert Lamb, Joyce Lenhardt and Marissa Morris will be new additions to the board. At-large members whose terms expired and who did not seek re-election are: Tom Cullen, Marianne Dwyer, Wendy Kern, Pam Thistle and Tolis Vardakis. Vardakis will retain his seat as ex president if current president Walter Sullivan is re-elected to the position. Officers and executive committee members are chosen by the board at its May meeting. Because of a bylaw change last year that has set in motion a slow reduction in the size of the board, at the organizational meeting in May there will be 38 members if Sullivan is re-elected. If Sullivan is not reelected, he will occupy the past-president position and Vardakis will no longer be on the board. Even though there will be no election, the Local will run brief profiles of the new board members in the next few weeks. Also, there will be a lengthy ballot for CHCA members who will be asked to vote on 14 bylaw amendment propositions.
