Whispers Along the Wissahickon sold out again this year. This annual fall celebration for families hosted by the Friends of the Wissahickon takes place every year at the Wissahickon Environmental Center. (From left) Community Clothes Charity committee members, Patty Webster, of Wyndmoor, Scilla Smith, of Villanova, Mellen Vogt, of Chestnut Hill, and Liddy Lindsay, of Philadelphia are shown here displaying just a few of the thousands of wonderful new and gently used designer fashions and accessories that will be for sale at prices way below original cost at the upcoming CCC three day sale. Well-known for their great selection of couture labels such as Armani, Escada, Chanel and Ferragamo, donated by the committee, their supporters and top national designers and retailers such as Oscar de la Renta. This year there is a large donation of brand new items given by the young designer Zac Posen, and the firms Lafayette 148 and Anthropology that will please all ages. The annual sale will take place Thursday, Oct. 28-30 at The Village Hall at Eagle Village Shops, 503 W. Lancaster Ave. For more information, visit www.communityclothescharity.org. |
