A big thanks for another year of Hoops Madness

Posted

We did it again - another fun and memorable Hoops Madness was had by all involved! Hundreds of players gathered at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy and La Salle College High School with their families and friends last weekend to take part in our unique 3-on-3 tournament and related festivities.

With the support of so many special people, schools, institutions, and businesses, we continue to be fortunate to be able to grow the positive impact of Hoops Madness by using basketball as a platform to promote healthy competition, community spirit, the benefits of volunteerism, and the importance of having fun while trying your best.

All of these attributes were on display Friday night as our enthusiastic crowd cheered on our 14th District police officers, Engine 37 firefighters, and Cosimo’s Pizza Café’s staff as they shared their hoop skills in our first community 3 Point Shooting Competition. The team from Engine 37 holds the bragging rights until next year.

We can’t wait to build new memories with all of you as we host our 10th Hoops Madness in 2025. Until then, we would like to offer special thanks to all of our incredible sponsors: Next Play Basketball, Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, La Salle College High School, and some amazingly dedicated individuals who help make Hoops Madness happen – including but not limited to Matt Paul, Anne McNiff, Heather Gray, Will Standish, Sandi Stabler, Mark Inniss, Sinan Latib, Ryan Ansel, Jennifer Tilley, and Dr. John Scanlon.

Brien P. Tilley serves as chairperson of the CHCA’s annual Hoops Madness tournament.
