The following is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from March 3-10. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later are included.) 

Chestnut Hill:

March 4 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing while it was parked on the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane.

March 6 Shoplifting. A woman was stopped by police after stealing $41 worth of merchandise from the CVS located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. The items were returned to the store.

March 9 Shoplifting. An offender was observed stealing paper towels and other merchandise from the CVS located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

March 9 Theft from motor vehicle. A man returned to his car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trailhead at Bells Mill Road and Germantown Avenue, to find his window shattered. Cash and credit cards were stolen.

March 9 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trailhead at Valley Green Road, to find her window shattered. Her purse, drivers license and credit cards were stolen.

Mt. Airy:

March 3 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported the catalytic converter being stolen from his car, which was parked on the 300 block of East Sharpnack Street.

March 4 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported the catalytic converter being stolen from his car, which was parked on the 100 block of East Durham Street.

March 5 Shoplifting. A man was witnessed leaving the Acme, located on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue, with beer he did not pay for.

March 5 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported the catalytic converter being stolen from her car, which was parked on the 200 block of East Sedgwick Street.

March 6 Shoplifting. A male was witnessed leaving the Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, with approximately $100 worth of merchandise he did not pay for.

March 7 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported his firearm being stolen from his vehicle, which was parked on the 300 block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

March 7 Theft. A complainant reported a package being stolen from their porch, which is located on the 1200 block of East Cliveden Street.

March 7 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 200 block of West Johnson Street.

March 7 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 200 block of Montana Street.

March 9 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 300 block of West Johnson Street.

March 10 Shoplifting. Two offenders were observed leaving the Wawa, located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, with snacks they did not pay for.
