A Halloween adventure for younger children

Come see the horses and their riders dressed up for Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Northwestern Stables for their annual “Haunted Horses” trick or treat event, specially designed for younger children and families. Walk through the stables to see the horses and their riders in creative costumes.

The barns and the grounds will be decorated for the holiday, and candy stations will be set up along the way. For an additional cost, youngsters ages 5-14 can sign up for a “mini riding experience,” which is a chance to meet a horse up-close and feel the excitement of being in the saddle.

Haunted Horses is an important fundraising event for the historic stable.

“This is the third year for what has become a wildly popular family event,” noted Jean Bochnowski, Executive Director for Northwestern Stables. “Our riders love creating costumes for their four-legged friends and sharing them with younger horse lovers, ghouls, princesses and cowboys.”

Northwestern Stables is in Chestnut Hill at 120 W. Northwestern Ave., and the event runs from 4 to 8 p.m., with the last entry at 7:30 p.m.

Timed tickets are $5, and should be purchased in advance at Eventbrite. Search for “Halloween with the Horses tickets.”
