Gather your pets and head to Chestnut Hill on June 2 for a day filled with laughter, love, and wagging tails. The Chestnut Hill Business Association is gearing up for its 8th annual Petapalooza on Sunday, June 2. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Germantown Avenue will transform into a pet paradise, offering a day filled with exciting activities, entertainment, and plenty of furry friends.
Chestnut Hill, already known for its pet-friendly atmosphere, takes it to the next level with Petapalooza. In partnership with Weavers Way Coop, this event showcases the neighborhood's love for animals and brings the community together for a paw-some celebration.
"At eight years old, Petapalooza is a mature event breed that is shared with our partner Weavers Way Coop," said Kate O'Neill, director of operations for the Chestnut Hill Business Association. "All kidding aside, Chestnut Hill loves its pets and this event is a sweet reflection of that."
Prepare to be entertained by a variety of activities, including live music by Play it Forward, a dog trick show by Badog Goodog Training, and an electric carriage named "Caroline" for unique photo ops. Kids will have a blast with face painting, bubbles, and chalk activities, while pets can cool off in the doggie pools.
For those looking to pamper their pets, a wide array of vendors will be offering homemade treats, toys, and apparel. A pet caricaturist will be on hand to capture your furry friend's likeness, creating a memorable keepsake.
Petapalooza also serves a greater purpose. More than a dozen pet rescue and adoption agencies will be present, and ready to help animals find their forever homes. Attendees can learn valuable tips from onsite veterinarians and pet service providers and contribute to shelter donations at the collection area.
After the main event, the fun continues with "Yappy Hour" specials at participating Chestnut Hill restaurants and bars. Starting at 3 p.m., pet owners can enjoy a bite or a drink alongside their furry companions.
"Petapalooza is not just for dogs," reminds Georgia Forjohn, CHBA Marketing and Event Coordinator. "We welcome all pets, whether it's a cat in a stroller or a pet lizard. It's a celebration of the unconditional love our animals bring into our lives."
"Petapalooza has become a beloved tradition," said Forjohn. "It's a perfect opportunity for pet owners to bond with their furry companions while enjoying a beautiful day out.”
