The holiday season feels more familiar this year as the world gets back to normal, with many people getting out and about with less worry about Covid.
This is good news for local retailers, who are looking forward to that holiday shopping zenith known as Black Friday.
Shoppers, though, may well be out of practice. So here are some tips for handling what has, in past years, been a day of buying that can sometimes feel frantic, if not downright competitive.

Comparison shop. Getting a head start on Black Friday also allows for time to compare prices – especially on big ticket items like appliances, or furniture.
Confirm store hours Many retailers abandoned midnight store openings on Black Friday post pandemic. So confirm when stores are open before crawling out of bed in the dark.
Use curbside pickup!
Shoppers who may still be nervous about COVID don't have to sit Black Friday out. Various retailers started offering curbside pickup during the pandemic, an option that has proven so popular it's stuck.
