Canines turned out in costume for Halloween on the hill

Posted

About 20 dogs and their owners came to show off their Halloween spirit and parade up and down Germantown Avenue on Saturday.

It was perfect Fall weather for the Chestnut Hill Community Association’s first annual Canine Costume Parade, cool enough that the clever little jackets and hats were actually welcome - for dogs and people alike.

The dogs, and their people, were greeted by smiles and applause as they showed off their style: Penny the dog was dressed as a firetruck, Lola was a mermaid, Jimmy was a squirrel, and Mia was a pumpkin. There was also a pirate, a velociraptor (dinosaur), a devil, an angel, a chef, a hamburger, a knight, and Laura Lucas’s dog, Presto, was dressed in a skeleton costume.
