Northwest Village Network (NVN) will sponsor a virtual event, “Cartooning Through Life,” with well-known cartoonist Signe Wilkinson, on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

Wilkinson, a political cartoonist for the Philadelphia Daily News and later the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1985 through 2020, will talk about cartooning from Ronald Reagan through Donald Trump. She will share samples of her work on all the issues of the day – including guns, race, abortion, the environment and education. There will be plenty of time for questions.

Wilkinson is the first female cartoonist to win the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning (1992) and her many other awards include a Visionary Woman Award from Moore College of Art & Design, four Overseas Press Club Awards, and two Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for Cartooning.

NVN is an organization of seniors in greater Northwest Philadelphia who work together to provide educational and social programs as well as supportive services for people who want to age in their homes. To register for the event visit northwestvillagenetwork.org  or call 267-571-9697.
