As we close out another year at the Chestnut Hill Community Association (CHCA), we take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments and look ahead to the future. One of our most notable achievements this year has been the continued growth of our membership, with more than 200 new members joining the CHCA. This growth not only strengthens our organization but also ensures that we represent the diverse voices of the Chestnut Hill community.
Why membership matters
Membership in the CHCA provides various benefits, including a subscription to the Chestnut Hill Local, an invaluable resource for local news, updates, and events.
Beyond the tangible benefits, membership is a key component of our ability to carry out our mission. As with many small nonprofit organizations, the funds we raise through membership dues and fundraising activities are critical to supporting our work and expanding our programs. This year’s membership growth is vital as we strive to meet the changing needs of our community while continuing the work that has made Chestnut Hill a special place to live, work, shop, and gather.
A strong and engaged membership base helps us ensure that we represent the interests of all residents in Chestnut Hill. It also allows us to build partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to tackle important issues facing the community.
Expanding programs
Throughout 2024, we have taken a leadership role in bringing people together to address community concerns and provide information to city officials in areas such as development, green space, and transit.
Looking ahead, the CHCA is committed to continuing the development of programs and activities that improve the quality of life in Chestnut Hill. As we enter 2025, we aim to build upon our existing initiatives and expand our efforts to better serve the needs of this unique and special neighborhood. Whether it's hosting events that bring neighbors together, advocating for safety improvements like crosswalk striping and traffic-calming measures, or addressing concerns about development, our programs are designed to address the issues that matter most to our community.
As our community grows and evolves, so must our efforts to stay informed and involved in matters that affect everyone. Issues such as residential street lighting, development, and pedestrian safety require ongoing attention and collaboration. By expanding our programming and growing our membership, we ensure that Chestnut Hill is well represented by local and state officials.
Our advocacy work will continue to address key issues such as safety, development, and community engagement – ensuring that Chestnut Hill remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
Strength through collaboration
The role that CHCA plays in Chestnut Hill is vital to fostering a well-connected, safe, and thriving neighborhood. Our work goes beyond hosting events and programs; we also serve as a voice for the community, advocating for important issues on behalf of residents. We work closely with our partners – local businesses, city officials, and other organizations – to ensure that Chestnut Hill’s voice is unified and strong when advocating for key issues. Additionally, we bring together greenspace partners and individuals to share their expertise and roll up their sleeves to make our community greenspaces accessible and enjoyable for all.
In the coming year, we will continue to focus on strengthening these partnerships and expanding our efforts to represent the community in discussions about development, infrastructure, and pedestrian safety.
A sincere thanks
As we reflect on this year’s accomplishments, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all of our members and supporters. Your continued involvement is essential to the success of the CHCA, and we look forward to working together in the year ahead. We encourage anyone who is not yet a member to consider joining and contributing to the growth and success of our community.
Together, we can continue to build a stronger, more connected Chestnut Hill.
