Florence Atkinson, coordinator at Grace Lutheran Church, said volunteers will provide covered pint containers for freezing the soup. Donors can drop off their contributions at the church, located at 801 E. Willow Grove Ave., on Sundays from noon to 1 p.m.
"As you make Thanksgiving plans for your family, include some pints of your favorite soup recipe for our hungry neighbors," Atkinson said.
The church has a history of collaborating with social service organizations and actively supports Caring for Friends, which provides food and companionship to homebound, homeless and hungry individuals.
Food insecurity affects people of all ages, particularly the elderly, infirm and families with children, according to church officials.
Donors unable to make the Sunday drop-off times can contact the church at 215-836-2366 or gracewyndmoor@verizon.net to arrange alternate drop-off or pickup times.
The annual soup drive typically provides gallons of healthy meals to those in need throughout the area.
