If you weren’t aware, this upcoming Monday is an important day. Oct. 21 is the registration deadline for voting in Pennsylvania in the Nov. 5 election. Elections are a vitally important part of our democracy so if you aren’t registered to vote already, be sure to do so here. Not only can you vote for our next president in an influential swing state, you can also choose local officials who can enact change in our community. Make your voice heard this November!
In the meantime, let’s focus on some interesting local stories. Mt. Airy’s very own Cherelle Parker returned to the neighborhood last week, the Northwest is preparing for Halloween with plenty of spooky events, and local hawk watchers are confused.

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker returned to her home turf of Mt. Airy last week, reaffirming her commitment to the neighborhood that shaped her political career.

Why has Fort Washington’s Militia Hill seen an unusually low number of raptors this year? Local bird watchers are puzzled and concerned.

An actor from LA is flying in to put on a one-man production of “Dracula” at Germantown’s museum of 19th-century life. The Romanian Count simply will not die.
