The Chestnut Hill Community Association’s first annual Fall Frolic was a big hit on Thursday evening, drawing a crowd of at least 174 people to the Philadelphia Cricket Club on a beautiful, early Autumn evening.
The “friend-and-fundraiser” started with a champagne reception on the patio, followed by a delicious formal dinner of prime rib, salmon or vegan wellington in the club’s ballroom. Then the evening turned festive with dancing, accompanied by the ten-piece band Renaissance Orchestra.
The evening ended with the much anticipated announcement of who won the silent auction, which featured a variety of local products and experiences, including a private airplane ride donated by Angel Flight East, a kitchen tour and private dinner for six donated by the Philadelphia Cricket Club, and a beautiful oil painting by local artist Deb Hauser.
Guests included City Councilwoman Cindy Bass, and representatives from the Chestnut Hill Conservancy, the Chestnut Hill Business Association, the Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club, the Water Tower Advisory Council, and sponsors Chestnut Hill Hospital and Temple Health, Kurfiss Sotheby & Team Whetzel, Merrill Lynch, Elfant Wissahickon Realtors, and the George Woodward Co.
