The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Aug. 29-Sept. 5. 

Chestnut Hill

Aug. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A bag and wallet were stolen. 

Aug. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. Money, credit cards and a wallet were stolen. 

Aug. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked on the unit block of Bells Mill Road. Money, a purse and a phone were stolen. 

Aug. 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. Money was stolen. 

Aug. 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car broken into while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A driver’s license was stolen. 

Sept. 1 Shoplifting. A complainant witnessed someone stealing a bottle of tequila from the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store located on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue.

Sept. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported witnessing her car being broken into while parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A wallet, identification and credit cards were stolen. 

Mt. Airy 

Aug. 14 Aggravated assault. A complainant came to the 14th Police District offices and reported having been assaulted by her spouse. The altercation happened on the 200 block of Sydney Street.

Aug. 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported the radio being stolen out of his car, which was parked on the 7100 block of Bryan Street. 

Aug. 27 Theft. A complainant reported that his Amazon delivery was stolen from his porch, located on the 700 block of Vernon Road. 

Aug. 29 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car missing from where he parked it, on the 200 block of Garrett Street, in the morning. 

Aug. 29 Theft. A complainant reported his bike being stolen from the 600 block of Carpenter Lane. The bike lock was cut. 

Aug. 29 Shoplifting. A complainant reported somebody stole a printer from the Staples located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Aug. 29 Robbery. An offender attempted to rob the Citizens Bank on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue of $15,000. The offender never got the money and was apprehended by police at Washington Lane and Ardleigh Street.

Aug. 29 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked on the 600 block of East Allens Lane.

Aug. 29 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen off a car parked on the 6800 block of Lincoln Drive.

Aug. 30 Shoplifting. A complainant reported the theft of a back massager from the CVS located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

Aug. 30 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen off a car parked on the 1300 block of East Johnson Street.

Aug. 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported credit cards being stolen out of her car, which she believed was unlocked, while playing tennis near the Allens Lane Art Center, located on the 600 block of West Allens Lane. 

Aug. 31 Theft. A complainant reported having two bicycles stolen from the backyard of his house, which is located on the 7000 block of McCallum Street.

Aug. 31 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen off a car parked on the 200 block of East Ellet Street.

Sept. 1 Theft. A complainant reported his medication being stolen from a residence on the 300 block of West Johnson Street.

Sept. 2 Simple assault. A complainant claimed to be punched and bitten by an offender on the 600 block of East Upsal Street.

Sept. 2 Burglary. A complainant stole items, including a phone and a POS system at a business located on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue.

Sept. 3 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his motorcycle missing from where he parked it, on the unit block of West Hortter Street. 

Sept. 4 A complainant who was delivering food for Golden Crust Pizzeria had his car stolen while making a delivery to a residence on the 6700 block of Musgrave Street. He left the car running when four males jumped inside and sped off with the vehicle.

Sept. 4 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen off a car parked on the 6700 block of Emlen.

Sept. 5 Theft. A complainant, who was a tractor-trailer driver delivering cigarettes to the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, reported that four men stole eight boxes of cigarettes off his truck worth approximately $3,500.

Sept. 5 Theft of motor vehicle. A complainant had her car stolen while loading groceries from the Acme located on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. The vehicle was left running with the keys inside.
