The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Jan. 16 - Jan. 22. 

Chestnut Hill

Jan. 17 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue with diapers and batteries they didn’t pay for. 

Jan. 18 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue with cosmetics they didn’t pay for. 

Mt. Airy 

Nov. 23 Theft. A complainant reported several packages going missing from her doorstep, located on the 7500 block of Devon Street.

Nov. 28 Theft. A complainant reported a package going missing from her doorstep, located on the 7600 block of Stenton Avenue.

Dec. 29 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off their vehicle while it was parked on the 300 block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Jan. 18 Motor vehicle theft. Police witnessed two males in the process of trying to steal a car on the 400 block of East Mt. Pleasant Avenue. The offenders fled without managing to steal the vehicle, however, the vehicle’s rear window and steering column were broken. 

Jan. 18 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the CVS on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive with laundry detergent they didn’t pay for. 

Jan. 20 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported an offender, who is her ex-boyfriend, forcing his way into the home she was inside of, located on the 6700 block of Blakemore Street, before proceeding to punch her. The offender is on parole. 

Jan. 20 Theft. A complainant reported that her landlord hired a moving company to pack up her entire apartment, located on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue, due to a clerical error. When she got home, she said, certain items – including her bed, necklace and shoes – were missing. 

Jan. 20 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue with various hygiene items she didn’t pay for. She fled in a blue Kia SUV.

Jan. 20 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the wine and spirits store on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue with a bottle of vodka she did not pay for. 

Jan. 20 Theft. A complainant reported a package going missing from her doorstep, located on the 600 block of West Cliveden Street.

Jan. 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complaint reported a phone charger being stolen from their car, which was parked on the 100 block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue, despite no signs of forced entry. 

Jan. 21 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue with deodorant, candles and shampoo they did not pay for. 

Jan. 21 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender leaving the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue with ten bottles of Red Bull that he didn’t pay for. 

Jan. 22 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car being stolen from the 6600 block of Sprague Street.
