The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Feb. 6 - 13. 

Chestnut Hill

Feb. 7 Vandalism. A complainant reported that her car, which was parked on the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue, had its window smashed and its steering column broken.

Feb. 8 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having their registration and insurance card stolen from their car, which was parked on the 8000 block of Winston Road.

Feb. 8 Vandalism. A complainant reported that the rear window was shattered on her rental car, which was parked on the 8100 block of Ardleigh Street. The ignition also was completely popped out. 

Feb. 10 Aggravated assault. A fight broke out at a house on the 400 block of Rex Avenue among a group of several offenders and complainants that resulted in injuries to multiple people. One was stabbed in the rib cage, one was sliced on his thumb and another was sliced on his hand.

Feb. 10 Shoplifting. A complainant reported witnessing an offender steal a cup of coffee and two breakfast bars from the Starbucks, located on the 8500 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Feb. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a backpack and a wallet stolen from their car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road. The car’s window was smashed. 

Feb. 11 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a bag, a hat and keys stolen from their car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road. The car’s window was smashed. 

Mt. Airy 

Jan. 12 Robbery. A complainant reported a customer at the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue going behind the counter and stealing cigars. He forcefully pushed an employee in the process, injuring her back. 

Feb. 6 Burglary. Police witnessed an offender exiting a property, located on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue, before contacting the property owner who said nobody should be there. 

Feb. 6 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car, which was parked on the 6700 block of Anderson Street.

Feb. 7 Theft. A complainant, who is an employee at Q Nails Salon on the 6500 block of Germantown Avenue, reported a customer leaving without paying because she did not like the service. 

Feb. 7 Theft. A complainant reported an offender breaking into his car, which was parked on the 300 block of West Hortter Street. The offender stole the complainant’s wallet and broke the steering column of the vehicle. 

Feb. 7 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car, which was parked on the 7300 block of Bryan Street.

Feb. 9 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported cash, two laptops and a driver’s license being stolen out of her car, which was parked on the unit block of West Weaver Street.

Feb. 10 Robbery. A complainant reported that her boyfriend elbowed her in the mouth, which caused her to bleed, when she tried to take back some luggage that he stole from her. The incident occurred on the unit block of West Upsal Street.

Feb. 10 Theft. A complainant reported a package going missing from her porch, located on the 200 block of Upsal Street.

Feb. 10 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off her vehicle, which was parked on the 6900 block of Anderson Street.

Feb. 10 Theft. A complainant reported a package going missing from her porch, located on the 400 block of Hortter Street.
