The following is for crimes reported for the period from Feb. 24 to March 2.  (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Feb. 26. Shoplifting. An offender at the ACME supermarket in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street tucked three small boxes of wine, valued at $40, into her purse and left without paying for them.

Feb. 28. Theft. A complainant reported that he parked his car in the 7900 block of Stenton Avenue and when he returned the next day all four of his tires, valued at $1,000, …

The following is for crimes reported for the period from Feb. 24 to March 2.  (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

Feb. 26. Shoplifting. An offender at the ACME supermarket in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street tucked three small boxes of wine, valued at $40, into her purse and left without paying for them.

Feb. 28. Theft. A complainant reported that he parked his car in the 7900 block of Stenton Avenue and when he returned the next day all four of his tires, valued at $1,000, were missing.

March 1. Theft. An employee at Matines Café, in the unit block of Bethlehem Pike, reported that a former employee came to the restaurant claiming he left his jacket in the kitchen and when the current employee left to check for the jacket, the man was gone and $400 was missing from the register.

March 2. Shoplifting. A witness told police that an offender took cleaning supplies, valued at $50, from aisle 10 at the ACME supermarket in the 7700 block of Crittenden Street and left without paying for them.

March 2. Shoplifting. An offender, who was arrested by police, took paper towels and detergent, valued at $47.45, from Staples in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue.  

Mt. Airy

Feb. 18. Theft. A MacBook Air valued at $400 and owned by the City of Philadelphia was stolen from a classroom in the Henry Houston School in the 7300 block of Rural Lane.

Feb. 25.  Motor vehicle theft.  A woman reported parking her 2021 gray Maxima in the 200 block of Meehan Avenue and when she returned the car was missing.

Feb. 25. Aggravated Assault. An employee at Quest Diagnostics in the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue reported that a client at the location for a drug test became irate because of the wait time and pulled a knife, threatening to beat up the employee and other patients. The offender then went to the front desk and threw around items.

Feb. 25. Vandalism, property destruction. The windows of about a dozen cars on the 200 block of West Duval Street were smashed and items including a laptop and a pair of prescription glasses were stolen from the cars.

Feb. 26. Theft. A complainant at Hortter Street and Chew Avenue reported that he placed his mobile phone on top of his car, left for a few minutes and when he returned the phone, the phone case and credit cards inside the case were missing.

Feb. 26. Shoplifting. A man walked up and down the aisle grabbing multiple items in the ACME supermarket in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue, but only paid for a bag of potatoes and walked out of the store.

Feb. 26. Shoplifting. An offender walked into the CVS in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive and grabbed multiple baby items and left without paying.

Feb. 26. Shoplifting. An offender took steaks, meat, seafood, beer and wine valued at about $312 from the ACME market in the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue and walked out of the store without paying for them.

Feb. 26. Vandalism, motor vehicle theft. Complainant in the 500 block of West Sedgwick Street found their 2014 Subaru Forrester before it was reported stolen. The ignition was damaged.

Feb. 27. Shoplifting. An employee of Wawa, in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue, flagged down police and identified a man who took items from the store without paying for them. The man was taken into custody.

Feb. 28. Theft. A woman riding the Route 18 bus that stopped in the 600 block of Vernon Road reported that two offenders attempted to grab her phone, one was successful and both offenders ran toward Blakemore Street. The complainant lost track of them.

March 1. Intimidation/Threats. A father and son in the 400 block of Vernon Road got into a verbal dispute and told police different versions of a story in which the father picked up a hammer which he said was to defend himself after his son slammed the father’s arm in the door, while the son said the father slammed his own hand in the door.

March 2. Shoplifting. An offender took several household items valued at $200 from the CVS in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

March 2. Shoplifting. An offender took oral care and body wash items valued at $400 from the CVS in the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

March 2. Vandalism/Property destruction. Five cars in the 6300 block of Greene Street were broken into or damaged and their owners reported cash and other items were missing from the vehicles.
