The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period between April 12 to April 18. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.
Chestnut Hill
April 9 Theft on the 7600 block of Stenton Ave. A woman told police she had a maintenance worker at her apartment for repairs while she wasn’t there. Now she reported missing a $400 Louis Vuitton bracelet.
April 14 Theft from vehicle, Valley Green. A complainant reported a broken into vehicle and more than $1,200 in valuables taken. Specifics were not detailed.
April 17 Theft from vehicle on 100 block of W. Northwestern Ave. A woman parked her car and when she returned, found both the driver and passenger side windows of her car smashed. Stolen was a small, tan leather purse containing ID, credit cards, a Trac phone and $80 in cash.
April 18 Credit card Fraud, retail on the 8200 block of Germantown Ave. A fraudulent card was used to purchase more than $500 worth of services. Occurred on Dec. 23, 2020.
Mt. Airy
April 11 Retail theft from Acme, 7010 Germantown Ave. Two women entered the store and took several small items and fled without paying.
April 13 Retail theft from Wine and Spirits Shop, 7204 Germantown Ave. A store employee saw a man take a bottle of Bacardi rum and flee the store without paying.
April 16 Theft from vehicle on 1000 block of Kitchen’s Lane, Monastery Stables. A woman told police someone forced open her driver side window between 2 and 4 p.m. and took her purse containing multiple items and $200 in cash.
