Crime Report: 2 stolen cars and an attempted burglary

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy from Dec. 13 to Dec.20. Some reports are prior to the date range and were reported after the fact.

Dec. 13 Theft from vehicle on the 8000 block or Roanoke Street. A man parked his car in the evening at the location and returned later to discover his passenger side window broken and $300 in alcohol and a $175 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses stolen.

Dec 14 Stolen car on 7700 block of Ardleigh Street. A woman told police her son parked his green 97 Honda Accord at her home. He later discovered the car had been stolen. License plate is NJ MCN54T. Car is worth $1,000.

Dec. 15 Theft from vehicle on 7700 block of Devon Street. A woman told police that someone stole $100 worth of tools from the back of her van. There was no evidence of forced entry.

Dec. 16 Theft from vehicle on the 8200 block of Ardleigh Street. A man reported to police that he discovered someone had removed the catalytic converter from his car.

Mt. Airy

Dec 17 Theft from vehicle on the 6800 block of Emlen Street. Man told police someone broke the rear passenger side window of his car and took $3 in cash from the center console.

Dec 17  Theft from vehicle on the 500 block of Pelham Rd. A man told police he discovered his rear passenger side window smashed and a $10 winning lottery ticket stolen from his car.

Dec. 18 Theft from vehicle on the 400 block of W. Sedgwick Street.  A woman told police that she found her front passenger side window smashed and $80 in valuable taken from her car.

Dec. 19 Vehicle theft, 8300 block of Stenton Ave. A woman told police she went into the gas station and left her car running with the keys in the vehicle. When she came out, her car was gone. Car is a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, PA tag: JYX2130. The vehicle is valued at $9,000.

Dec. 20 Attempted burglary on the 400 block of Woodbrook Lane. A woman saw a man in her pool house. She ordered him to leave the property. He left the pool house but the woman discovered him in the front yard of her property. Police arrested the man at her home and took him to the 35th division for processing.
