The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period from Dec. 13 to Dec. 20. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.

Crime Report: Dec. 13-20, 2021

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period from Dec. 13 to Dec. 20. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

Dec. 14 Retail theft. Offender placed an item in her purse and left the store, Fine Wine & Good Spirits on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, without paying. 

Dec. 14 Assault. Woman was assaulted by boyfriend on the 8300 block of Shawnee Street after another man touched her. The offender also chased her around the house with a kitchen knife.

Dec. 14 Theft from Auto. Man discovered the window broken on his 2017 Land Rover with items stolen after parking at the corner of Valley Green Drive and Wolcott Drive. 

Dec. 15 Theft from auto. After parking her vehicle at the corner of Valley Green Drive and Wolcott Drive, a woman noticed a suspicious purchase on her credit card for $420. Upon returning to her car she noticed it had been broken into with items stolen.

Dec. 17 Theft from auto. Man, who may have left his vehicle unlocked, reported an iPad, laptop and sneakers stolen from his car parked on the 200 block of Meade Street.

Dec. 19 Theft. Approximately $100 worth of merchandise, including several scarfs, stolen from CVS on 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Mt. Airy

Nov. 23 Theft. Resident involved in an eviction dispute noticed offenders removing art, jewelry, clothing, cologne and wine from her house while visiting a neighbor on the 100 block of East Upsal Street.

Dec. 1 Auto theft. An unknown offender stole a red, 1994 Mazda Protege from the 200 block of West Upsal Street. 

Dec. 14 Theft from auto. Man discovered the window broken on his car with items stolen after parking at corner of Westview Street and Cherokee Street

Dec. 15 Theft. Man took an item from Fine Wine and Good Spirits on 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying. 

Dec. 15 Burglary. An unknown man ransacked a vehicle on the 6700 block of Germantown Avenue.

Dec. 15 Man was shot once in the left hand and once in the left thigh on the 6600 block of Boyer Street. 

Dec. 18 Auto theft. Woman’s boyfriend left keys inside the car while entering a store on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue. He came out to find the vehicle missing.

Dec. 18 Auto theft. Complainants left keys in ignition of silver 2018 silver Hyundai Sonata while entering residence on 6800 block of Sprague Street. They came out to find the vehicle missing.
