The Local can now report that, according to city officials, the total cost of cleanup for the Alden Park “trash mountain” behind 5720 Wissahickon Ave. amounted to $11,757.72. It took two visits to take care of the illegal dump site behind Valley Greene Apartments – with the second visit requiring a backhoe.
According to city policy, taxpayers should not have to foot that bill. The Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP) is supposed to bill the property owner when it is forced to come and clean a mess like this one.
