Edward Allen Rittenhouse, Jr “Ted”,  November 5, 1941-December 6, 2024,
died peacefully surrounded by his family. 

Ted is survived by his wife of 60 years Louise (Howland) who he met at the
Water Tower Rec Center in Chestnut Hill. He is also survived by three
children; Jennifer, Todd (Ellie) and Amy (Brian) and his seven
grandchildren: Jessica, Kristin, Kimberleigh, Matthew, Grace, Andrew and
Lauren. 

After attending Cardinal Dougherty High School, he enlisted in the Army

where he proudly served as a medic at Walter Reed Medical Center in
Washington D.C. 

Ted was the owner of CE Hopkin Roofing Co. for many years until he
retired at the age of 70.  Ted had many hobbies such as home repairs, DIY
projects, making English streetlamps and lamp posts, traveling with Louise
and attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events. 

Ted was a great family man and enjoyed his time with Louise. He will be
remembered for his amazing storytelling, his kind spirit, and his creativity. 

Services will be held at Our Mother of Consolation Roman Catholic Church,
9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118, Wednesday, December
18, 2024, with a visitation 10-11AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 11AM.  Interment will take place immediately afterwards at George
Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting.
