Autumn, "that season of mists and mellow fruitfulness," is once again upon us - and Wissahickon Magazine is here to help you make the most of it.

We start with a visit to the terrace at Karamoor Estate Vineyard and Winery in Blue Bell for the best of the harvest season - and meet a family that has overcome an almost unbelievable series of challenges as they keep that business humming with award-winning wines.

Paul Meyer, beloved cheerleader for Northwest Philadelphia's amazing tree canopy, gives us all important information about what these powerful green giants are actually doing for us - and what they need from us in return. And speaking of the beauty of the natural world - we get an inside look at what makes fly fishing such an exhilarating sport, and why it's becoming ever more popular in the Philadelphia region.

George McNeely brings his impressive knowledge of architectural history to a project that seems poised to become one of our region's most exciting stories of historic conservation: Lynnewood Hall.

For anyone looking for a delightful destination, we suggest Grounds for Sculpture, a 42-acre oasis that meticulously and naturally blends a sculpture park, museum and arboretum on what had been the barren remains of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds just outside Trenton, N.J.

And finally, we'll hear from one of Philadelphia's most beloved artists, Germantown resident Barbara Bullock, as she gives us her take on various pieces now being featured at Woodmere Art Museum - which is showcasing her 50-year career with an exhibit whose title says it all: "Barbara Bullock: Fearless Vision."

As we enjoy the fresh air and refreshing rustle of colorful foliage in this harvest season, may the stories in this issue inspire you to appreciate anew the beauty all around us, and how lucky we are to call this delightful region our home.
