The biggest graduation loss for the Patriots was 6'2" Kendall Bennett, who is now at the University of Binghamton. GA's strongest underclassman in the post last year, sophomore CeeJay Thomas, has transferred, as has one of last year's freshmen, Addi Levensten.
On this year's GA squad there is a fifth senior, forward Tati King, who is new to the team. Rounding out the initial varsity roster are a pair of 5'11" freshman forwards, Claire McKee and Jo Owens.
Owens is the daughter of former GA and University of Pennsylvania star Diana Caramanico. Caramanico has been an assistant coach for the Germantown Academy boys for some time, and she will now be an assistant on the girls' side.
GA's legendary head coach of 25 seasons, Sherri Retif, retired after the 2022-23 campaign, and the new skipper for the Patriots is Lauren Thomer Power. She played college ball for Rider University and has coached at both the high school and college levels. She is coming off a successful five-year tenure as head coach of the Academy of Notre Dame.
In the Inter-Ac League, the Irish tied GA for second place in each of the last two seasons (Penn Charter was champion both times).
A strong link to the Patriots' immediate past is their highly-regarded longtime assistant coach Andre Strothers. Reaching farther back, GA has added as assistant coach Jim Buckley, who was the Patriots' head coach before Retif and tutored many outstanding players, including Caramanico.
