The hazardous sidewalks along the shopping corridor of Germantown Avenue pose a significant health threat. Recently, I was taken to the emergency room after tripping on an uneven sidewalk. My attending physician informed me that such occurrences are frequent, emphasizing that these sidewalks indeed represent a health risk! The dangers of tripping and falling, caused by cracked, uneven, or elevated pavements, as well as exposed tree roots, can lead to serious injuries for everyone, not just the elderly. The duty of maintaining sidewalks falls to municipalities and property owners. This has been an ongoing concern, and I implore all property owners to address your sidewalks for the safety of the community.
