In the spirit of “keepin’ it local” and supporting business on the Hill, a big hats off to Mimi’s Café and their Valentine’s Day take out fest! Looking for something a little different and following some hints from last week’s Local we decided to try a dinner from Mimi’s Valentine Take Out menu. Really didn’t have great expectations, but we were wrong. It was spectacular! Without all the details, the menu was interesting (but not off the wall), portions were more than ample, preparation (and cooking/warming instructions) were spot on and the food was wonderful. We had the chicken roulade and beef wellington, which were both very well prepared, top quality ingredients and delicious! The lemon curd cake was top notch (I can say spectacular only so many times), and each portion would have easily served two.
With takeout options like Mimi’s, who needs dine-in? With forewarning that Mimi’s has promised a March Dinner ToGo menu, we shall return.
