The Fallser Club at 3721 Midvale Ave. in East Falls will be screening the film "Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom” on Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m. This documentary chronicles the Maidan revolution in the winter of 2013-14 and is crucial viewing for anyone who wants to understand modern Ukraine's fight for self-determination.
The screening is part of the Modern Ukraine Film Series throughout the Philadelphia area. Following the screening there will be a panel discussion and Q&A with Maidan participants who will share their views about the depiction of the deadly clash that led to the ousting of President Viktor Yanukovych.
The discussion will be moderated by Philly Stands With Ukraine. Complimentary Ukrainian food will be provided during the event. Proceeds will go to Ukraine TrustChain, a nonprofit organization working on the ground to provide civilian evacuations, food and medicine for residents of besieged Ukrainian cities and towns.
