City Councilwoman Cindy Bass has asked developer Kenneth Curry not to move forward with his planned demolition of Teviot, the historic home designed by Wilson Eyre Jr. at 399 E. Willow Grove Ave., until she can meet with him to discuss the community’s concerns. Curry bought the building in September and got city permission to demolish it in December. Bass expects to meet with Curry this week.
Court hearing for blue lives matter logo controversy
The evidentiary hearing scheduled for last Thursday in the Pennsylvania FOP and Police Benevolent Association’s lawsuit against Springfield Township was postponed to a later date to allow lawyers to gather more information. A rescheduled hearing has yet to be announced.
Mailbox found open in front of Chestnut Hill Post Office
The ongoing issue of checks being stolen from the mail remains a problem. The mailbox in front of the Chestnut Hill Post Office was sitting open on Monday morning, raising questions about who, other than mail carriers, are in possession of the keys to these boxes.
