Beginning this year, OMC is one of only 30 schools in the country to offer the Challenger Experience Program, a STEM program that encourages students to use technology to resolve shared challenges.
Celebrating its 160th Anniversary, Our Mother Consolation Parish School (OMC) is a vibrant and diverse Catholic school community in Chestnut Hill that educates students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has recognized OMC as a School of Distinction thanks to the leadership of Principal Patricia Sheetz, a dedicated faculty, and supportive parents.
OMC’s faculty has added a variety of rigorous academic programs to further the school’s mission of fostering intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth through the teaching of Catholic values. Beginning this year, OMC is one of only 30 schools in the country to offer the Challenger Experience Program, a STEM program that encourages students to use technology to resolve shared challenges. OMC has also partnered with the Rendell Center for Civics and Civic Engagement to prepare our students to be the next generation of engaged citizens and leaders.
Students at OMC are hardworking and high-achieving. OMC’s eighth graders attend their first-choice high schools and earn scholarships at a high rate. The class of 2022 earned over $250,000 in scholarships and this year’s eighth graders have already distinguished themselves. This year, eighth-grader Peter Finn Amuso achieved the highest score in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the Neumann Scholar Exam and earned a scholarship to an Archdiocesan high school of his choice. Elodie Breslin, another eighth grader, is the recipient of the Sister of Saint Joseph Scholarship with distinguished recognition in Art.
To commemorate its 160 years of history and prepare for the future, the school is embarking on an ambitious fundraising campaign to ensure that Catholic education remains strong.
