I’ve called the Chestnut Hill area home for almost two decades, and I am deeply grateful not just for a beautiful place to live, but also to be part of such a vibrant community. Since my first days as a newlywed living just steps from Bredenbeck’s Bakery, I have relied on the Local to help me know that community and stay involved.
That's why, when I saw a notice about open seats on the Local's board a few years ago, I reached out to learn more. Soon after, I joined the board, and since then I have found the experience incredibly fulfilling. I've had the chance to help recruit our publisher, shape our strategy and get to know other members of the community.
Today, we're looking to bring on new members to our board once again. In particular, we're looking for expertise in law, finance, marketing, development, strategy, and media.
Our new board members will join us at an exciting time, when we’re seeing fantastic stories come out week after week from our newsroom and creative approaches emerge from our business team to advance that work. As a board, we’re working to support all of that effort with a particular focus on growth in readership, innovation in our financial model, and enhancements to our product.
If you are early in your career but would like to be involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are exploring creating a council that would contribute the work of our board made up of early-career professionals and young community members and would be glad to talk with you about the idea.
If you’d like to be part of these efforts and want to learn more, please reach out to us at chlboard@chestnuthilllocal.com.
