Over 1,000,000 Philadelphians have received at least one dose of the vaccine, a milestone announced by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health last week.

As of September 2, the total number of fully vaccinated Philadelphians is at least 823,207, or 66.3 percent, and the number of Philadelphians with at least one dose of the vaccine is 1,004,888, or 80.9 percent with at least one dose of the vaccine.

“Vaccines are the safest and most effective tool that we have to get this pandemic under control, and I’m extremely proud and thankful that over 1 million Philadelphians have taken this step to protect themselves and others," said Mayor Jim Kenney.

“I’m extremely proud that 80 percent of adults in Philadelphia have heeded the critical advice of medical professionals and are better protected from the dangers of COVID-19,” said Mayor Kenney. “Philadelphia is among the first big cities in our country to reach this important milestone and make no mistake – it did not happen by chance.”
