Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCH) recently announced six seniors — Alec Gupte, Aaron Jia, Eloise Levin, Judah Meyer, Lewa White, and Lauren Wilson — were recognized for their high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) by the National Merit Scholarship Program.

White was named a National Merit Semifinalist, a title representing less than one percent of U.S. high school students. She now has the opportunity to advance to Finalist status and compete for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million to be offered in the spring of 2026.

The five other SCH students each were given a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program. They placed among the top two-thirds of the approximately 50,000 high scorers who entered the competition and are eligible for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
