If your youngsters aren’t already scheduled to the max with summer activities, here are a few camp options that offer diverse opportunities to play, learn and lead.

Mighty Writers, the youth writing program with a branch in Germantown, is offering a Teen Writers Camp for youngsters 12-14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 15 to Aug. 2, and a College Launchpad program for students ages 15 to 18, 9 a.m. to noon, Aug. 5 to Aug. 9. Quintessence Theatre Camp in Mt. Airy guides youngsters as they turn a classic children’s book into a live stage performance. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 8-12, and July 29 to Aug. 2. For info, quintessencetheatre.org/camp.

Camp Barnabas is a day camp for youngsters ages 6 to 12, July 8 to Aug. 9, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5421 Germantown Ave. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but before and after care are available. For info, call 215-844-8544.

Area YMCAs also offer summer camp opportunities at locations including Ambler and Roxborough. For info, philaymca.org/programs/camp.

WHYY’s Middle School Narrative Camp guides students in the process of creating their own short films.  9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 5 to Aug. 16. For info, whyy.org.
