An early 1980s view of the original 1884 trestle spanning the Cresheim Valley. SEPTA cited the poor condition of the trestle as a reason to eliminate the Chestnut Hill West line in the 1980s until funding came through, and the trestle was replaced in 1989 with the steel and concrete bridge that exists today.
