At the end of March, I was in the unenviable position of acting on behalf of a friend’s family at their bedside during a visit to the Chestnut Hill emergency room. The care and compassion shown by his nurses was heartwarming. In a short time, Trish, Jaclyn and the ER team were able to assess the situation medically, but more importantly, through his discomfort, they were able to understand the patient and his wishes. In this day and age, it’s refreshing to meet healthcare professionals who are still human and committed to providing the best care. As a resident of Chestnut Hill, I am grateful to have full confidence in my local hospital knowing that if my family or I have an emergency, we will be treated with compassion, professionalism and unparalleled respect.
