Artist & Craftsman Supply will close its Chestnut Hill location at 7926 Germantown Ave. Although no official closing date has been set, the store’s social media and website will inform customers when it arrives.

The move comes after the chain announced it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 21.

According to Becky Tochterman, marketing manager for Artist & Craftsman Supply, the company filed for bankruptcy “with the intent to restructure, organize, and strengthen our business. Unfortunately, our Chestnut Hill closure is part of that restructuring process.”

Artist & Craftsman Supply is currently having a 30% off sale storewide on all merchandise and an additional 20% off clearance items. According to Tochterman, the company is working closely with the six Chestnut Hill employees “to support their employment during the closing process and help transition to their next endeavors.”

Grace Santana, Chestnut Hill store manager for Artist & Craftsman Supply, expressed gratitude for the community on the Hill.

“We are so grateful for almost 10 wonderful years at the Chestnut Hill location. It has been such an honor serving the Northwest Philadelphia artist community and beyond, not just by providing quality art supplies and crafting supplies, but by sharing our collective knowledge as practicing artisans,” Santana said. “I am so proud of everything we’ve achieved here throughout the years.”

Artist & Craftsman Supply’s location in Old City (307 Market St.) will remain open and all gift cards and loyalty accounts will be usable there.
