“Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is not only fulfilling an immediate need in our communities but is also investing in the future of our young people by creating jobs and career pathways,” Susan Slawson, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation commissioner, said in a prepared statement. “Through this program, participants gain lifesaving skills, nationally recognized certifications, and real-world experience they can carry with them for a lifetime.”
To apply, candidates should first decide at which pool they would like to work, then contact that pool’s supervisor to begin the application. Next, they should schedule a swim-skills screening with Parks & Recreation’s Aquatics staff. Applicants can complete their Red Cross certification and all pre-employment requirements with help from the staff.
