The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 17-24. 

Chestnut Hill

Oct. 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on West Northwestern Avenue reported the window being smashed with items, including a laptop and laptop bag, stolen.

Oct. 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road reported their car window being smashed with items, including a laptop and headphones, stolen.

Oct. 17 Theft. A complainant reported having cash stolen from him while inside of Chestnut Hill Hospital, located on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 18 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on West Northwestern Avenue reported their car window being smashed with items, including a wallet, keys and credit card, stolen.

Oct. 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on West Northwestern Avenue reported their car window being smashed with items, including money and two wallets, stolen.

Oct. 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road reported their car window being smashed with items, including a purse and a diaper bag, stolen.

Oct. 20 Aggravated assault. When a complainant who works for a repossession company tried to repossess a vehicle on the 7600 block of Crittenden Street, the vehicle’s owner came out of the apartment with a gun.

Oct. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant had $8,500 worth of jewelry stolen from her car while it was parked in the Chestnut Hill Hospital parking lot, located on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Oct. 21 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car going missing after it was parked on the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue.

Oct. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Valley Green Road reported their car window being smashed with items, including credit cards, stolen.

Oct. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant had two dollars in change stolen from his vehicle, which was parked on the 100 block of West Chestnut Hill Avenue. 

Oct. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant had two iPhones stolen from her car while it was parked in the Chestnut Hill Hospital parking lot, located on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. 

Mt. Airy 

Oct. 17 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car having been moved by an unknown person from where it was last parked, on the 400 block of West Sedgwick Street. The vehicle had a broken steering column and window and there was a USB cord in the car that was not his.

Oct. 17 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked their car in the Allens Lane Art Center parking lot, located on the 600 block of Allens Lane, reported their car window being smashed with items, including a laptop and handbag, stolen.

Oct. 17 Theft. A complainant reported having three bicycles stolen from her garage, located on the 100 block of East Sedgwick Street.

Oct. 17 Burglary. A complainant reported that someone broke into his home on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street and stole his PlayStation 5.

Oct. 17 Shoplifting. A complainant reported an offender stealing diapers from the CVS located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive.

Oct. 19 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the license plate being stolen off his car, which was parked on the 200 block of West Upsal Street.

Oct. 19 Theft. A complainant, who lives on the 400 block of Pleasant Street, reported a package being stolen from their porch.

Oct. 19 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car going missing after it was parked on the 500 block of Roumfort Road.

Oct. 19 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported that her girlfriend pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her after an argument that turned violent. 

Oct. 20 Motor vehicle theft. Police responded to a report of two males inside someone’s car, which was parked on the 600 block of Vernon Road. When police approached them, they fled. The steering column was broken.

Oct. 20 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who left his car running while picking up a pizza on the 6700 block of Germantown Avenue had his car stolen. 

Oct. 20 Theft from building. A complainant reported that his landlord entered his apartment, located on the 7300 block of Germantown Avenue, and threw some of his things away while he was out.

Oct. 20 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car being broken into while parked on the 100 block of West Allens Lane. The window and ignition were both broken. 

Oct. 22 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant had a registration card stolen from their vehicle, which was parked on the 200 block of West Upsal Street. 

Oct. 22 Theft. A complainant, who lives on the 100 block of West Gorgas Lane, reported a package being stolen from their porch.

Oct. 22 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 6600 block of Emlen Street.

Oct. 23 Shoplifting. The store manager of the CVS, located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive, reported an unknown woman stealing various items from the store.

Oct. 23 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Vernon Road.

Oct. 23 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car going missing after it was parked on the 300 block of West Gorgas Lane.

Oct. 24 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car going missing after it was parked on the 7200 block of Crittenden Street.
