The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Nov. 28-Dec. 4. 

Chestnut Hill

Nov. 28 Burglary. A man walked into the Chestnut Hill Cat Clinic in the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue around 4:40 p.m. through an unlocked front door and began rummaging through the place. When the complainant saw him she yelled at him, prompting him to leave. No items were taken. 

Mt. Airy 

Nov. 29 Theft. A woman got into her 2006 Green Toyota Sequoia on the 300 block of Vernon Road in East Mt. Airy at around 3:50 p.m. and heard a loud roaring noise when she started it. She checked under the car and realized that her catalytic converter had been stolen. 

Dec. 3 Theft. A woman reported that she was eating dinner at a restaurant on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue when her wallet was stolen. It contained $20 in cash and credit cards, which someone used at a CVS to purchase $550 worth of goods. 

Aug. 5 Theft. Complainant who lives on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street ordered an $800 Android phone. The company told her it had been delivered but she never received it. 

Nov. 2 Motor Vehicle Theft. A woman parked her car on the 500 block of Vernon Road, and when she returned to it later that evening it was gone. 

Nov. 30 Theft/shoplifting. Witnesses saw a man load a bunch of firewood, power leak fluid and a variety of other things onto a dolly outside the ACME market at 7010 Germantown Ave. at about 3 a.m., push it out of the parking lot, and head south on Germantown Avenue. 

Dec. 1 Aggravated Assault. Complainant told police he was having a conversation with a man regarding his daughter on the 7100 block of Chew Avenue at about 6 p.m. when the man pulled a black handgun from his waistband. The complainant pulled out his own gun and shot in the direction of the offender, who fled on foot. Another man was walking by and felt a pain in his lower right forearm, and a friend took him to Chestnut Hill Hospital for a gunshot wound. 

Dec. 1 Theft. Complainant states that a man took an Amazon package that contained a sleeping bag from the porch of a home on the unit block of East Sedgwick Street and then fled on foot. 

Dec. 1 Theft. Complainant who lives on the 7500 block of Devon Street reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from their car at about 5 a.m. 

Dec. 2 Theft. Complainant reports that someone stole a washer and dryer from a first floor living unit on the 7100 block of Boyer Street. 

Dec. 3 Theft. Someone took 15 packs of cigarettes from the Wawa in the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and did not pay for them. 

Dec. 3 Motor Vehicle Theft. Complainant went to get into his White Kia Sportage, which was parked on the 300 block of E. Hortter Street, and found it was missing.  

Dec. 3 Theft. Complainant reports that someone stole sunglasses, a camera and the temporary tags from his 2019 Subaru Forester, which was parked on the 400 block of Vernon Road.

Dec. 4 Theft. A woman reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from her 2020 Hyundai Tucson, which was parked on the 500 block of W. Hortter Street.
