The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Feb. 27 - March 5. 

Chestnut Hill

Feb. 18 Shoplifting. A woman left the wine and spirits store on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue with items she did not pay for. 

Feb. 27 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A woman had the catalytic converter stolen from her car, which was parked on the 8700 block of Prospect Avenue. 

Feb. 27 Robbery. A man was approached at the corner of Germantown and West Willow Grove Avenues by three males who robbed him at gunpoint for his phone and credit cards after getting off the 23 SEPTA bus.

Feb. 27 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing someone leave the Acme on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street with groceries they didn’t pay for. 

Feb. 28 Shoplifting. An offender left the wine and spirits store on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue with items they did not pay for. 

March 2 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A woman had the catalytic converter stolen from her car while it was parked on the 7600 block of Lincoln Drive.

March 2 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her vehicle being stolen from the unit block of Mermaid Lane.

Mt. Airy 

Feb. 12 Theft. A man reported a package stolen off his doorstep, located on the 6900 block of Lincoln Drive.

Feb. 20 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported multiple vehicles being stolen from the corner of Boyer and East Phil Ellena Streets.

Feb. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported her gun being stolen from her car while it was parked on the 600 block of East Upsal Street.

Feb. 27 Theft. A woman reported a package stolen from her doorstep, located on the 700 block of Vernon Road.

Feb. 27 Burglary. A complainant broke the side window of a house on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive to gain entry and steal a flip phone. 

Feb. 28 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their rental vehicle being stolen from the 7500 block of Boyer Street.

Feb. 28 Shoplifting. An offender left the Wawa located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue with miscellaneous items they did not pay for. 

March 1 Shoplifting. An offender left the wine and spirits store on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue with items they did not pay for. 

March 1 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her vehicle being stolen from the 300 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue.

March 1 Arson. A witness has video of a man with a bag fleeing the scene of a house fire on the 100 block of West Cliveden Street. A Philadelphia Fire Marshal declared the fire an arson. Damage from the fire spread to two neighboring houses. 

March 1 Vandalism. A man reported someone breaking into his car, which was parked on the 200 block of West Upsal Street, and damaging the steering column. 

March 1 Vandalism. A man noticed two men inside his vehicle, which was parked on the 200 block of Johnson Street, who fled when they realized he saw them. The car’s window was broken. 

March 2 Theft from motor vehicle. A man left his car window down by accident and had prescription drugs and a tablet stolen out of his car while it was parked on the 200 block of West Upsal Street.

March 2 Robbery. A 71-year-old woman was punched in the face and had her wallet stolen by a man she let into her apartment, located on the 6700 block of Emlen Street, because she owed him money.

March 3 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing someone leave the Acme on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue with groceries, cleaning products and laundry detergent they didn’t pay for. 

March 5 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing a man leave the Acme on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue with beer they didn’t pay for.
