The following report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from April 16 - 23. 

Chestnut Hill

April 16 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A man reported the catalytic converter being stolen from his car, which was parked on the 8500 block of Anderson Street.

April 18 Carjacking. A woman at her car, which was on the unit block of East Springfield Avenue, when was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded her keys. 

April 20 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing an offender leave the CVS, located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, with numerous items without paying. 

April 21 Theft. Two males were seen trying to break into the Wells Fargo ATM, located on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. The males fled when the witness yelled at them.

Mt. Airy 

April 8 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their mother’s car going missing from the 6400 block of Greene Street.

April 14 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their car going missing from the 6400 block of Sprague Street.

April 16 Motor vehicle theft. A woman reported her car going missing from the 200 block of East Phil Ellena Street.

April 18 Vandalism. A complainant reported their car being broken into while it was parked on the 6400 block of Milton Street. A rear window was broken and the ignition was damaged. 

April 19 Shoplifting/assault. An employee at the Family Dollar located on the 6500 block of Greene Street was struck in the face with a bottle of body wash that was stolen from the store by the offender. 

April 19 Motor vehicle theft. A man had his car stolen from the 6900 block of Sprague Street.

April 19 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car being broken into while it was parked on the 6400 block of Belfield Avenue. The ignition was damaged in the process.

April 20 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car being broken into on the 6800 block of Milton Street. A rear window was broken and the ignition was damaged. 

April 20 Motor vehicle theft. A man left his keys in his car while delivering food on the 6700 block of Emlen Street. An offender proceeded to jump in the car and flee with the vehicle.

April 21 Motor vehicle theft. A man had his car stolen from the 1200 block of East Cliveden Street.

April 21 Shoplifting. A witness reported seeing an offender leave the CVS on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive with diapers they did not pay for. 

April 22 Motor vehicle theft. A man had his car stolen from the corner of Germantown Avenue and West Allens Lane.
