The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from June 11 to June 25.

Chestnut Hill

June 12 Shoplifting. An employee at the wine and spirits store, located on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, reported seeing a woman leave the store with multiple bottles of liquor she did not pay for. 

June 13 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near West Northwestern Avenue had her car window shattered. Items, including a purse, driver’s license and sunglasses, were stolen. 

June 15 Shoplifting. An employee reported an offender leaving the CVS, located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, with items, including pens and toothpaste, he did not pay for. 

June 15 Shoplifting. An employee reported an offender leaving the wine and spirits store, located on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue, with liquor he did not pay for. 

June 16 Theft. An employee reported her ex-boyfriend coming to her place of work, located on the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue, and stealing her purse out of her locker.

June 18 Shoplifting. A Rite Aid employee reported witnessing an offender leave the store, located on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street, with items, including medicine and earbuds, they did not pay for. 

June 19 Shoplifting. A Rite Aid employee reported witnessing an offender leave the store, located on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street, with food they did not pay for. 

June 22 Theft. A woman inside of Fairview Nursing Home, located on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike, reported having $168 stolen from her purse.

June 23 Theft. A man reported three earrings and three rings being stolen while a cleaning company was at his house, located on the 100 block of West Highland Avenue.

June 24 Burglary. A woman returned home from being out of town for more than a week to find her home had been burglarized. The rear door was broken and the parts of the home had been ransacked. Jewelry was stolen. 

June 25 Shoplifting. A man was witnessed stealing diapers and laundry detergent from the CVS located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. 

June 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported her car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Wolcott Drive and Valley Green Road, being broken into. The car’s window was shattered and items, including a wallet, were stolen.

June 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported his car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance by Wolcott Drive and Valley Green Road, being broken into. The car’s window was shattered and items, including his girlfriend’s purse, were stolen.

June 25 Theft. A resident inside of Fairview Nursing Home, located on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike, reported having his wallet stolen.

June 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported his car, which was parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on the 100 block of East Bells Mill Road, being broken into. The car’s window was shattered and his iPhone was stolen.

Mt. Airy

June 8 Theft. A man reported having a package stolen from his front porch, located on the 200 block of East Durard Street.

June 11 Vandalism. A man reported his car window being shattered while it was parked on the 1200 block of East Cliveden Street. The ignition was also tampered with.

June 12 Burglary. A man returned to his apartment, located on the 1300 block of East Johnson Street, to find his refrigerator open, broken mugs on the floor, his bathroom curtain ripped and items, including an EZ-Pass and handicapped placard, stolen. 

June 12 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car being stolen from the unit block of East Hortter Street.

June 12 Theft. A man reported having a package stolen from his front porch, located on the unit block of West Hortter Street.

June 13 Theft. A woman reported having a package stolen from her front porch, located on the 200 block of Slocum Street.

June 14 Shoplifting. A CVS employee reported witnessing a man steal $300 worth of merchandise from the store located on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive. 

June 14 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 300 block of West Hortter Street.

June 14 Burglary. Security footage witnessed a man break the glass of Brown Eye Care, located on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue, and steal multiple pairs of sunglasses. 

June 14 Burglary. An employee at the wine and spirits store located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue reported an unknown person stealing vodka from a glass display case, which was broken in the process.

June 14 Vandalism. Police witness males fleeing from a car they tried to steal on the 500 block of South Pleasant Street. The car’s windows were broken and the ignition was tampered with. 

June 14 Vandalism. Police witness males fleeing from a car they tried to steal in the 6700 block of Blakemore Street. The car’s windows were broken and the ignition was tampered with. The males were taken into custody.

June 16 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his vehicle being stolen from the 400 block of Slocum Street.

June 16 Motor vehicle theft. A man reported his car going missing from the 400 block of East Phil Ellena Street.

June 18 Theft. A woman reported her instacart order going missing from her front door.

June 18 Burglary. A complainant reported having four bicycles stolen from their house, located on the 600 block of St. Georges Road.

June 20 Theft from motor vehicle. A car parked near the corner of Park Line Drive and West Hortter Street, near the Wissahickon Trail entrance, had its window shattered. Items, including a key fob and a wallet with $300 cash, were stolen. 

June 20 Burglary. Police witnessed a man jumping out the window of a property on the 100 block of West Sharpnack Street. The man was put in custody. 

June 23 Theft from motor vehicle. A car parked on the 6500 block of Park Line Drive, near the Wissahickon Trail entrance, had its window shattered. A backpack was stolen. 

June 23 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having their firearm stolen from their vehicle, which was parked on the 700 block of East Phil Ellena Street. There were no signs of forced entry on the vehicle.

June 23 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported change going missing from the inside of his unlocked vehicle, which was parked on the 1000 block of Westview Avenue. 

June 23 Shoplifting. A man was witnessed stealing food and juice from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue. The man was later stopped by police and placed in custody. 

June 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A car parked near the corner of Park Line Drive and West Hortter Street, near the Wissahickon Trail entrance, had its window shattered. Items, including a social security card, credit cards and a wallet, were stolen. 

June 25 Theft. A man reported a package containing a new laptop being stolen from his porch, located on the 300 block of West Hortter Street.

June 25 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his rental car being broken into while parked on the 400 block of East Phil Ellena Street. The steering column was damaged in the process.
