The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 20 to Oct. 29. (Some crimes that occurred on dates earlier than the current period but weren’t reported until later may be included.)

Chestnut Hill

Oct. 24 Burglary. An unknown offender broke the front glass door, an office door, and stole cash and receipts from a laundromat on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street.

Oct 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that after going on a hike and returning to his vehicle parked on Valley Green Road, he saw that his rear passenger side window was broken and his wallet, AirPods, and credit card were stolen.

Oct. 25 Theft. A man reported that someone stole a FedEx package from his house on the 8100 block of Saint Martins Lane, after the offender claimed to be from FedEx and that they were there to retrieve a package that was accidentally delivered to his house. The complainant’s name was on the package.

Oct. 26 Theft. A complainant reported that someone stole items from an apartment that they used to share on East Abington Avenue, which included an iPad, headset, and Apple watch.

Oct. 26 Theft from motor vehicle. Someone broke the driver’s side rear window of a man’s vehicle parked on Valley Green Road and stole cash, two MacBook Pro laptops, credit cards, and glasses.

Oct. 27 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A woman reported that someone stole the registration tag from her vehicle parked on the 7600 block of Stenton Avenue.

Oct. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A woman reported that someone broke the rear window of her vehicle parked on Valley Green Road and stole her laptop, charger, and Burberry handbag.

Oct 28 Theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories. A man reported that while he was in a restaurant on the 8400 block of Germantown Avenue, someone stole the license plate off his parked vehicle.

Oct. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that his wallet was stolen from his girlfriend’s vehicle parked on the 700 block of Cornelia Place. He later recovered it from the Springfield Township Police Department.

Oct. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. An unknown offender stole bank cards from a man’s vehicle parked on the 7600 block of Stenton Avenue.

Oct. 29 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported that someone stole bank cards, an iPhone, and a purse from their vehicle parked on Valley Green Road and Wolcott Drive.

Oct. 29 Shoplifting. A man filled a shopping cart with $200 worth of lotion at the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, and left the store without paying.

Mt. Airy

Oct. 20 Burglary. A man reported that his tools, a refrigerator, an oven, and a microwave were stolen from a house he was renovating in the 200 block of East Sharpnack Street.

Oct 23 Robbery. A woman reported that she was approached by a man with a firearm and had her phone, wallet, ID, and credit cards taken on East Upsal and Morton Streets. This happened after she thought she was going to the location to purchase a vehicle from another man.

Oct. 24 Aggravated Assault. A woman reported that she was stabbed on the 6700 block of Boyer Street while trying to break up a fight between her friend and the offender.

Oct. 24 Motor Vehicle Theft. A complainant reported that someone broke the driver side window of their vehicle parked on the 300 block of East Cliveden Street and tampered with the ignition.

Oct. 25 Theft from Motor Vehicle. An unknown offender broke the passenger side window of a woman’s vehicle parked on Wissahickon Avenue and Kitchens Lane and stole her backpack containing an iPad, laptop, earbuds, bank cards, and school ID.

Oct. 25 Aggravated Assault. A man was struck in his thigh by a gunshot on the 300 block of East Phil Ellena Street.

Oct. 26 Theft from motor vehicle. A man reported that someone broke the front passenger window of his vehicle parked on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street, and stole his computer, iPad, and cash.

Oct. 26 Shoplifting. Someone took chips, candy, and juice from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Oct. 26 Theft. A man reported that a package was taken from his house on the 400 block of East Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Oct. 26 Shoplifting. A man took a display case of 5-hour Energy drinks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.

Oct. 29 Shoplifting. Six juveniles took various snacks and drinks from the Wawa on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying.
